Monsieur Notebook Leather Journal - A4 (21x30cm) - Ruled - Brown

Monsieur Notebooks leather journals are genuine leather (vegetable tanned) notebooks hand made in India, providing fair wages and working conditions as well as a really excellent notebook, made to last and be treasured beyond its use.

The handmade A4 leather journals have a semi-hard leather cover (with elastic closure) that wears beautifully and softens with time and is somewhere between a hardcover and a softcover notebook. You should bend your notebook around on itself fully the first time you open it. Like any leather item, it will seem quite stiff at first but quickly relax with time and use. By bending the cover around on itself, the notebook will lie completely flat the next time you open it.

And open it you will! Inside is a cute title page and ribbon page marker. The A4 journals have 90gsm ivory paper stock that is fountain pen friendly for most pen and ink combinations, though will show some 'echo' on the other side of the sheet with heavy inks. The lined version has 7mm spacing. It's lovely to write in and you find yourself opening to write over and over!

With time, the Monsieur notebook will wear both aesthetically and to the touch and is a lovely, permanent piece for the collection of any sketcher, writer, diarist or general lover of paper and pen!
